The Rural Crafts Programme at Kitebrook is designed to preserve the school’s long-standing traditions.
Starting in Year 3, pupils participate in a Friday afternoon carousel of hands-on activities, taught by local crafters. This not only allows pupils to learn authentic skills but also strengthens our connection with the community by offering employment opportunities.
The activities include:
- Allotment management
- Clay, Leather, and Stone (Dry Stone Walling)
- Farm visits
- Felt, Textiles, and Wool
- Food preservation
- Green woodwork
- Woodwork and Musical Instrument Construction
- Willow work
This programme ensures that pupils gain a deeper understanding of the rural traditions that shape the Cotswolds while maintaining Kitebrook’s rich heritage.
