The Rural Crafts Programme at Kitebrook is designed to preserve the school’s long-standing traditions.

Starting in Year 3, pupils participate in a Friday afternoon carousel of hands-on activities, taught by local crafters. This not only allows pupils to learn authentic skills but also strengthens our connection with the community by offering employment opportunities.

The activities include:

  • Allotment management
  • Clay, Leather, and Stone (Dry Stone Walling)
  • Farm visits
  • Felt, Textiles, and Wool
  • Food preservation
  • Green woodwork
  • Woodwork and Musical Instrument Construction
  • Willow work

This programme ensures that pupils gain a deeper understanding of the rural traditions that shape the Cotswolds while maintaining Kitebrook’s rich heritage.
